grand pepper of reality is a Psychedelic/Alternative Rock band that sometimes gets Proggy or Folky. It features the music of Doug Principato solo and with the band. Based in NYC, songs resonate from the heart for the heart.  They released two albums, Songs That Saved My Life and Calling The Air (available as CD and/or download).  The songs are a salve for people in emotional turmoil, hook filled, rocking and deep. Recently the band made a fantastic new album called Cry & Sing.  It was recorded at Doug's home studio Pepper Temple,  beautifully mixed by Ariel Shafir at Dreamland Studio and mastered direct from tape by the legendary Scott Hull at Masterdisk. The music jumps right out of the record. There's incredible energy and magic in the basic tracks because they were caught live in the studio. The album will be self-released (Pepper Temple Records 003) on amazing sounding vinyl in 2026, and will be preceded by three singles and videos. The first will be Cry & Sing, the infectious rocking title track, the psych-power pop delight, Elephants Fly!  will be next followed by Let's Be Easy  an extremely catchy tune about helping one another. 

The band features Jonas Manashowitz on drums, bells and various percussion instruments. Jonas and Doug have been friends and original music collaborators since high school. Fritz Sammy, a long-time friend and fan, stepped in on bass and backing vocals and Doug Principato's songwriting, production, lead & backing vocals, guitars, mandolin, ukulele and synthesizers complete the current line up. We love and thank Shosh Vogel, whose lead & backing vocals, clarinet and ukulele added beautiful parts to the record.
